Google has expanded its AI-powered research tool, NotebookLM, to support over 50 languages, making it more accessible to users worldwide. This update enhances the Audio Overviews feature, which turns research materials into podcast-style summaries, allowing users to listen to key insights in their preferred language.

     What’s New in NotebookLM?

- Multilingual Support: Users can now generate Audio Overviews in languages like Urdu, Hindi, Turkish, Afrikaans, Arabic, Japanese, Spanish, French, and Chinese.

- Output Language Option: A new setting lets users select their preferred language, ensuring both AI-generated summaries and chatbot responses match their needs.

- Improved Accessibility: This update breaks language barriers, making research and learning more inclusive.

How to Use NotebookLM in Multiple Languages

1. Upload Your Sources: Add documents, PDFs, or web links to NotebookLM.

2. Select Your Preferred Language: Go to Settings and choose an Output Language.

3. Generate Audio Overviews: Listen to AI-generated summaries in your selected language.

4. Interact with AI: Ask questions and receive responses in your chosen language.

     Why This Matters

This expansion makes NotebookLM a powerful tool for students, educators, and professionals working with multilingual content. For example, a teacher preparing a lesson on the Amazon rainforest can upload materials in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, then generate an Audio Overview in Hindi for their students.

Google plans to continue refining this feature based on user feedback, ensuring high-quality AI-generated summaries across all supported languages.
